Hana Miletić (*1982, Zagreb/Croatia, lives and works in Brussels) reflects on issues of representation and reproduction, by making linkages between photography and weaving. The artist models her textiles after her photographs that document repairs as both marks of transformation and gestures of care. Focusing on community structures and social interactions, her artistic practice explores the consequences of political and economic changes for the individual and society at large. In this, Miletić sees the weaving process – which requires considerable time and dedication – as a way to counteract certain social forces at work, as well as a way to consciously deal with the encountered conditions of transformation. Across her various series, Miletić also calls attention to the gendered associations of textile craft, subtly relating forms of historically undervalued labor, like the “women’s work” of weaving, to other narratives of social and economic struggle and the larger political forces that give shape to them.

Her most recent solo-exhibitions include CAC – la synagogue de Delme (two person exhibition) (upcoming); Galerie Tschudi, Zürich (upcomine); The Approach, London (2026, 2021); Minerve, Brussels (2025); Magenta Plains, New York (2025); Walter & Nicole Leblanc Foundation, Brussels (2024-25); MIT - List Visual Art Center, Cambridge (2024); Kunsthalle Mainz  (2022-23); MMSU – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rijeka (2022); Mudam, Luxembourg (2022); Basement, Rome (2022); LambdaLambdaLambda, Prishtina (2021); Kunsthall Bergen, Bergen (2021); LA MAISON DE RENDEZ-VOUS, Brussels (2019) and WIELS, Brussels (2018).
